I have an existing tar and gravel roof on a 2:12 pitch roof. I want to replace it with a standing seam metal roof.
I am concerned about the "snap on" seaming systems on some metal roofs, since we get very high winds during the winter storms. Winds can easily reach 80/90 MPH in gusts. I am concerned both about wind resistance and leaks that could occur from wind driven rain. Should I be concerned about that?
Second, the Berridge system seems to have on site formed panels using a portable forming machine and coils of material.
Is that system equal in quality of product to the factory manufacturered panels?

It can be of similar quality. You need a well-adjusted machine and an experienced and conscientious operator. If you end up using a field-seamed type of panel, that is a pretty easy panel to run and might be harder for someone to run wrong, if that makes sense.
