There are several different grades and types of paint system and each will carry its own life expectancy and characteristics as far as fade and chalk. The Metal Construction Association has adopted certain minimum standards for paint and metal quality on metal roofing. It is always wise to ask if a product meets their Standard or Premium criteria. Generally Kynar / Hylar finishes are recognized as having superior life including fade and chalk resistance. They can be expected to last 35 - 60 years depending upon the climate and color. I hope this helps.

I am very sorry but I have no experience with Hydro Stop. I am sorry. I would suggest reading their warranty and asking to see past installations.

Our metal roof is 11 years old and has faded badly. We got a quote to repaint it and it is not cheap. The metal is fine but I don't want to spend a lot of money if I have to repaint in 5 years. I know paint fades but do you know roughly how long the new paint job will last? Thanks for the info!

We are looking at Hydro-Stop system. If we repaint will it last more than 5 years before we have to repaint again? Thank you!
