What is the difference between a tin roof and a seamless metal roof? What are the pros and cons for use in a residential building?

Tin is a type of metal. I do not know of any roofs being manufactured from tin today.
"Seamless" is a term I have heard used but really it is not used in the industry. I assume it referred to standing seam roofs.
I hope this helps some ... comparing "tin" and "seamless" is sort of like apples and oranges ... and they are both terms not really being used today.

I attached a picture of a standing seam metal roof. It was made of galvanized in this case but could also be aluminum.
