The area could be carefully and lightly power washed.
If you google "how to get rid of pigeons" you will find many ideas and products for helping with this situation. I am sorry I have not had personal experience with any of them.

Our Community Center roof was installed 2 months ago and just now, birds are beginning to perch on the edges and crap on the metal roof leaving noticeable droppings.
Please advise us on the following:
1. Best way to clean the metal roof of bird droppings?
2. Ways to prevent birds from perching on the roof edges?
