It sounds like you eliminated the exhaust vents that had previously been on the roof? Are there intake vents? It sounds very much like your home's construction requires attic ventilation. It is also required by code. A good source of info for ventilation basics is at www.airvent.com
A variety of types and styles of vents can be used on metal roofs. I would suggest going back to your roofing manufacturer for their advice.

Cary, my apologies. I now better understand your question. You replaced standard vents with a ridge vent and you have had issues with the ridge vent. Do you have intake vents, such as in the eave overhangs of your roof? If you have proper balance between intake and exhaust vents, things should be functioning properly.

I installed a 32 x 40 garage to my home. We installed metal roofing and have not had any problems. Decided to match my roof and install same color metal roofing to my manufactured home. The company stated that I can install my metal roofing over my current shingles as long as no shingles were lifted and I apply tar paper. Everything went smooth and the installation was complete. I removed my roof vents because of the 3 inch center cut-out and the metal center cap.
I discovered this winter moisture and condensation under my center cap and it actually filled my 3 inch cutout with ice.
How can I solve this problem... do I need to reinstall my roof vents? Do they make roof vents for metal roofing? If I reinstall roof vents can I just cover my center 3 inch cut-out and center cap over the cut-out?
I do not have this problem in my garage.

Carl,
Can you post up a picture as well or email them to Todd or me?
Sounds like the roofing company missed the class on ventilation here.
All fixable and you do need the ventilation to stay intact as you have unfortunately seen.
