Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What you do may impact the energy efficiency of the roof to some degree. It also may void warranties on the roof. Generally speaking an air dry finish will not have the durability of a factory finish. One product you may want to look into should you paint the roof is the PPG Aquatec system.

I have an 8 year old plain (silver) galvanized metal roof. Will painting a color like brown enhance the roof's looks? Will a post installation painting have a quality and durability close or similar to that achieved when the metal is painted prior to installation?
