Can polyiso rigid foam insulation be installed under metal roofing? Also would a rigid foam insulation with foil on both sides be of any benefit. I live in a house with a cathedral ceiling, so I have no attic space between ceiling and roof.

Many metal roofs can have insulation underneath of them. You should always confirm with the individual product and manufacturer. Somehow adding ventilation would be helpful. radiant barriers (foil) are only effective when they face an airspace. Thanks for planning on a metal roof. You will find it beneficial to look for a metal roof with high reflectivity.

Foil faced foam is certainly a benefit but it has to be used properly.
