I have got a 30x60 pole building with 15' Walls. The metal roof is installed right on 2x6 Perlins every 2'. The metal siding is installed on 2x6 ran horizontal every 2'. There is no vapor barrier. I want to insulate the building and install a wood stove. What is the best and cheapest way to do this. Wish I could do spray foam but cannot.

Now that I look at it there is a vapor barrier under the roofing. It is damaged in some spots though. Can I tape the rips with something like tyvek tape? The vapor barrier is open at the peak. Is that for venting or ? What is my best and most cost efficient way to insulate this building

No there is not an overhang the siding goes all the way to roofing.

And psk is what. And just in between the 2x6 perlins or over them to. Then u can insulate under that? Do I use ridig foam or can I use bats. Sorry to keep bugging. Just want to get clear instruction on doing it right. Have heard of a lot of problems if not

Ok so if I can't get it vented because of no overhangs and the perlins run length wise. What's the chance that the isulation with get wet grom condensation? Or do I need to worry about that. Do I want the isulation tight to the metal roofing or do I need to leave an air gap.

No easy way to do it. You need a vapor control layer across the roof and it needs to be sealed. Doing this retro and after the fact as you are is tough and even tougher to get right. Can you post up some pictures?

That appears to just be some some poly and in poor condition. If you want to do it right, rigid foam is your friend here but plan on renting a boom or scissor lift.

Is the soffit/overhang vented?

Than you really have no way to insulate and combine with venting. Just cover it with PSK and tape all the seams.

Rigid foam is going to probably work the best but will be more expensive. PSK - https://www.google.com/search?q=PSK+fiberglass&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&channel=fflb#rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&channel=fflb&q=PSK+fiberglass+batts If you create at type of vent space between the bottom of the rafters and the roof, you could create a type of vent space to allow for the convective movement of air and removing of any moisture that might get trapped. That all being said, installed and seam taped PSK will be cheapest and easiest.

If it is not vented, the air gap is worthless and actually counter indicative.
