As long as it is not creating a dam that is fine. Contact your metal roof supplier for the appropriate rubber boot.

I just built a garage with a metal gambrel roof. My HVAC contractor vented dual exhaust for infrared heaters through the roof and vented them directly through one of the ribs / seams of the roof. Is this an issue I should push to have rectified by having the affected panels replaced and the vent re-directed through a flat portion of the roof, or is the moldable boot that he used an acceptable option within the industry?
