How well do metal roofs withstand heavy hail storms? Do some types do better than others? How bad does the damage have to be before replacement is required?

They all do great from a penetration standpoint. Some will dent easier than others when it comes to a flat panel vs. other raised panel styles.
Heavier gauge metal is better in this case as it going over a solid decking surface.
What style of roof were you thinking about?
