Hi. I have a fin al metal roof and after 25 years there seems to be a build up of soot from the wood stove chimney. I would like to know how to clean this as it is restricting the ability of snow to slide off the roof. Thanks for your consideration on this matter.

Soot and combustion products are typically acidic so a mildly alkali surfactant usually does the job.
