We have a slight pitch shingle roof that received damage primarily in one corner and the ridge vent. We would like to replace with metal or re truss in hip or steeper pitch. We are exploring options. We need best metal and finish for salt as we are directly on the water. House is still dry but timely repair is necessary

Low pitch and salt exposure = Aluminum standing seam (mechanical lock) in most cases.
Glad the home is okay. My wife in in Ponce Inlet right now looking after her folks.
Seems like the storm could have been worse and certainly didn't rise to the Shephard Smith level of predictions.
Prayers got out to all the persons who lost their lives here in the states and in Haiti.

Can't help you out there. Best bet is to start with the Metal Roofing Alliance and see if they have a participating contractor in your area.
