I really can't speak specifically to your roof but if for some reason, the repainted finish is peeling off (Is that what is happening?), I do suspect that a new repainted finish will as well. What was the reason for the repaint 6 years ago?

We have a 27yo standing seam roof. About 6 years ago we had it painted but the paint is coming off especially in the winter with the snow. This has been happening since it was painted. The painters said that's what happens sometime? I wonder if we could have it repainted or do we need to have a new one installed? The contractor we spoke with said we need a new roof. We don't have leaks. We did have some rust divits before the painting but I don't see them now.
We would appreciate any info
