I have a flat tin roof on the front portico to my house and a semi-circular interior gutter that is made out of tin. Both are leaking. The portico and roof date to 1939. I have been told that replacement tin roofing material is no longer available. Do you know why that is the case? Do you know of any reclaimed material that can be purchased?

I am not aware of anyone making solid tin roofing. There may be steel roofing with a tin-zinc coating available today. I suspect tin was discontinued for roofing due to strength issues and commercial viability -- other products replaced it and it just eventually drifted away, You may be able to find some reclaimed product by searching Craig's List or eBay.
