No butyl tape under rake trim

I have another concern about my barn-style storage. No butyl tape or any type of sealant was put under the rake trim on the barn. The metal panels are screwed into furring strips on top of old shingles. Should I put butyl under the rake trim or do you believe it may be alright to leave it as is? Here is the pic of the barn.
