Chances are that is your only option but the best way to find out would be to contact the manufacturer of the coating that is in the roof now and ask them what options exist.
Our 50 year old standing seam roof was painted by previous owner with black asphalt tar. What options do I have now that it needs to be painted again? Must I coat with same product? Thanks!
