Generally speaking, washing the roof well with water, detergent, and TSP is recommended. Followed by a two-coat sprayed-on system. One option would be to go to a quality paint store and use the system they recommend (primer and top coat) or, best option, use an air-dry PVDF system available from Aquatic or Tnemec.
