Definitely seems like something happening with expansion and contraction. Sometimes these things do improve with time. I would suggest having an experience metal contractor out to look at things and head what's happening. They may be able to determine where it's coming from.
I have recently moved into a new build conversion 3rd floor apartment (6 months ago) and have experienced non-stop bangs from either the roof or the attic. It’s worse in the morning and at night so I’m thinking possibly thermal contraction. Can someone help my with what it could be and what I can do about it? The bangs are so loud and sound like nails popping and sometimes gunshots. I have included links to a couple of videos and a couple of pictures of the roof
