Generally I do not suggest metal over metal unless some extra steps are taken. For a shed, I would suggest removing the old metal.
If it is rated as a high temp product and it has a smooth (non-sanded, non-granulated) top surface, it should be fine and is done all the time.
Teds Shed:
After a hurricane some of the metal lifted up creating gaps, etc. Someone placed peel and stick (GAP) down over that existing metal roof.
The peel and stick is now peeling up at the corners and now down the sides, assuming it was not laid properly.
Now need to repair.
The existing roof is metal panels, can I put new metal panels over the peel and stick or does the peal and stick need to be removed?
i appreciate your response and so quickly.
in general though do you have a comment about putting metal over GAC peel and stick?
i was told it would bleed through?
