Hello,
I have a metal roof that is 20 years old and is due to have all of the old screws replaced. After scheduling an estimate with a roofing contractor who told us we would need to go up a size in screw for the replacement, he found that we already have the larger size in use. Is there another kind of screw to use that is larger yet and would be a safe replacement? No contractor wants to take this on and we don't have the money to replace the entire roof right now. Any advice you have is greatly appreciated.

Replacing metal roofing screws is a crucial maintenance task that ensures the longevity and integrity of your roof. Accurate roofing estimating Service is essential to determine the right type and size of screws needed for replacement. When the existing screws are already at the larger size, one option is to use oversized or specialty screws designed for metal roofing. These screws provide a secure fit even in worn or enlarged holes. Another alternative is to use rubber or metal washers to improve the seal and grip of the existing screw holes. Consulting with a knowledgeable roofing contractor can help identify the best solution for your specific situation and avoid the need for a costly roof replacement.
